UNHCR Learning Centre for Myanmar Refugees

During secondary school years, I devoted time towards volunteering for the Myanmar refugees, in addition to cultivating and honing my teaching skills. This experience allowed me to gain valuable insights to less privileged children who do not have basic necessities such as education, as well as other psychosocial factors of malnutrition.

Summary of Skills

During my time at Sri KDU International School, I devoted time towards volunteering for the Myanmar refugees, in addition to cultivating and honing my teaching skills. This experience allowed me to gain valuable insights to less privileged children who do not have basic necessities such as education, as well as other psychosocial factors of malnutrition. Additionally, I have also:

  • Developed strong interpersonal skills from working with socially and economically marginalized members
  • Collaborated with other team leaders in preparing supplementary lessons in English and Mathematics for a group of 5-8 children from various learning stages (age 5-13)
  • Developed different teaching methods to allow opportunities to learn from multiple perspectives
