Quick Summary:

Growing up in a multi-cultural country and being blessed with the opportunity to travel to various countries, I developed a keen interest in understanding the underlying factors behind human behaviours, motivations, and decision-making processes. The interplay between Psychology and Economics have enhanced my understanding of how humans behave and how society functions.

A combination of passionate and dedicated teachers sparked my interests in wanting to learn more about how our decisions and behaviours affect not only ourselves, but the people around us, and our society. The field of social sciences and humanities have meaningful applications in our daily lives. For example, when you stroll down the aisle in a grocery, do you notice how products are strategic place in a certain location to boost their sales and grab your attention? Why are fresh produce often placed around the outskirt of the store and processed foods are conveniently located in the central aisles?

These questions intrigued me and caught my attention, hence my pursuit in the studies of Psychology and Economics. Both fields delve into humans’ decision-making processes and understanding the impacts it has. Throughout my academic years in UBC, I hope to cultivate a thorough understanding of the complexity of human thought processes and examine the relationship between behaviours and its consequences.
